The Breakdown:  

We are seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded Amazon Strategist who is hungry to build and drive our brand’s success on Amazon’s third-party marketplace. This role is responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing our Amazon 3P business, overseeing an external agency that will support their work, and ensuring smooth operations across logistics, sales forecasting, reporting, content creation / A+ content optimization, and advertising execution. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong financial and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage cross-functional projects while delivering against sales targets and growth expectations. 

What You Get to Do  

  • Own and execute the overall strategy for the brand’s Amazon 3P business, ensuring profitable growth.
  • Manage pricing, inventory planning, and promotional strategies to maximize revenue and margin.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless product launches, listing optimization, and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts to inform inventory planning and financial projections.
  • Track key performance metrics including but not limited to sales, conversion rates, ad spend efficiency, etc. and provide actionable insights.
  • Deliver regular performance updates and recommendations to leadership.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure proper inventory levels and timely fulfillment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot stockouts, overstock, and Amazon’s fulfillment processes (FBA and FBM).
  • Partner with logistics teams to optimize demand planning and reduce operational inefficiencies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the agency managing Amazon advertising and account execution.
  • Ensure the agency meets performance targets, aligns with brand strategy, and optimizes spend efficiency.
  • Review and approve advertising strategies, including Sponsored Ads, DSP, and other Amazon marketing initiatives. Actively manage agency advertising performance on a weekly basis.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance the Amazon customer experience, including enhanced content, A+ pages, and brand store updates.
  • Partner with stakeholders in digital, wholesale, finance, and operations to drive alignment on Amazon initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, policy changes, and best practices to keep the business competitive 

What You'll Bring to The Team: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance or equivalent relevant work experience, M.B.A. with a concertation in finance preferred.
  • Experience directly managing a business on Amazon either 3P or 1P but preferably experience with both.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Amazon reports, etc.).
  • Experience working with or managing an external agency for Amazon advertising.
  • Detailed understanding of Amazon Seller Central, FBA/FBM operations, and advertising platforms.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently within a larger business to drive results and advocate for your channel.
  • A highly critical thinker that is constantly looking to optimize and scrutinize every aspect of their business.  

Core Capabilities That Would Help You Succeed in This Role:  

  • Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for Amazon 3P growth in collaboration with leadership.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce dynamics, Amazon’s marketplace ecosystem, and competitive landscape as well as other major 3rdparty marketplaces both domestically and globally.
  • Ability to balance revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong data analysis skills to interpret sales trends, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Deep understanding of inventory management, demand planning, and fulfillment (FBA/FBM).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure smooth supply chain and logistics operations.
  • Capability to navigate Amazon’s operational challenges, such as stockouts, chargebacks, and fulfillment delays.
  • Experience managing external agencies to drive Amazon advertising performance.
  • Ability to communicate expectations, set clear KPIs, and hold partners accountable.
  • Knowledge of Amazon PPC, DSP, and other performance marketing tools.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure smooth execution of listings, promotions, and advertising campaigns.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach to overcome challenges and drive results.
  • Strong ability to present insights, performance updates, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Highly collaborative with internal teams (wholesale, finance, operations, creative) to align Amazon strategies and deliverables with the ability to push hard / push back when needed achieve the big-picture strategy.
  • Clear and effective communication with external partners, including Amazon support teams and agencies.
  • A proactive, growth-hacking, approach to identifying growth opportunities, cost savings, and mitigating risks.
  • Advanced to expert level proficiency with Excel. 

How Your Success Will Be Measured: 

  • Ability to drive revenue growth aligned with annual planning and forecast.
  • Amazon/ business KPIs including but not limited to revenue, conversion, share of buy-box, and ACOS.
  • Ability to successfully and accurately plan, forecast, and budget as well as guide and influence assortment and inventory planning and forecasting done top-down or bottom-up.
  • The quality and content of the brand store(s) on Amazon as well as the content and quality of A+ content on Amazon.

Work/Physical Environment: 

  • This position is in a typical, stationary office setting. Over 80% of the day will be spent seated (and/or at a stand-up desk).
  • This is an on-site role, based in Burlington, VT. Expectations for time on-site are aligned with the company’s Stance on Remote Roles. We will offer relocation assistance to move to Vermont to any candidate who is hired.
  • The position requires minimal travel to assigned/supported offices, stores and/or other company locations.
  • This is an exempt/salaried year-round position.
  • This position may require minimal travel and in some circumstances be overnight.
