Inspector C

 

BASIC POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

The Inspector C is responsible for performing receiving, visual, and dimensional inspections to ensure that all incoming materials, parts, and assemblies meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace standards.

Together with your Team Leader and colleagues, you will strive daily for the highest possible standards in Quality and Safety.    Your experience working with valuable and sensitive parts, knowledge of regulations, and commitment to compliance will help Chromalloy deliver only the very best to our customers. You will also be involved in continuous improvement (including 5S projects) to make our processes safer, better, and more efficient.

This role includes alternating shifts: one week in standard day shifts (five days) and the next in evening shifts (four days).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct receiving inspections of incoming materials and parts, verifying compliance with purchase orders and specifications.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects, damage, or nonconformances.
  • Carry out precise dimensional inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (as applicable).
  • Accurately document inspection results, maintain records, and ensure traceability.
  • Identify and quarantine nonconforming materials, initiating appropriate quality notifications.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure inspection processes comply with company procedures and aerospace quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection function.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment as required.
  • Identify and propose process improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Promote Operational Excellence through utilization of a robust problem-solving methodology, CI tools 
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by enforcing and supporting 5S principles.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
  • VMBO or MBO level education with relevant experience, ideally in aerospace.
  • Certified or certifiable to NDT Level II in FPI in accordance with industry standards (e.g., NAS 410, EN 4179).
  • Demonstrated experience performing FPI in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of other NDT methods is an advantage.
