Intelligence Analyst I
Who We Are Looking For
Crisis24 seeks an Intelligence Analyst to join the Health team within the Global Intelligence Division. Office-based in Cape Town, the analyst must be skilled at analysing and interpreting public health data, open-source research, and writing for a professional audience. A strong background in a broad spectrum of health-related topics is required as is a willingness to learn data analytical tools. The analyst will be committed to providing timely, accurate, and relevant intelligence to Crisis24 clients in the form of brief tactical alerts, in-depth assessments, client-specific requests, and periodic special reports. The role will also be vital as an internal intelligence resource for departments across the GardaWorld group. The incumbent will be a self-starter, work well both independently and as part of a dynamic team, remain composed under pressure, and have demonstrable high-quality written and verbal skills.
What You Will Work On
- Using a variety of sources, including open-source media and personal and professional networks, to monitor for breaking and developing health-related events that could impact business and travel operations. These would include assessments of disease threats, medication availability, vaccination requirements, and local drug restrictions
- Analyzing health-related events to establish possible business impact; writing practical and concise briefings, summarizing likely client consequences and providing advice on threat mitigation
- Proactively assisting the global Medical Operations teams in enhancing quality, access, and timeliness of pre/in-trip medical advice/country threat assessments
- Enhancing/supporting the provision of more granular/localized medical information on Crisis24’s Horizon platform
- In collaboration with the global Medical Operations teams, assisting in the proactive outreach to clients to facilitate appropriate planning and preparation prior to travel
- Acting as an resource for departments in the wider GardaWorld group by responding to internal questions on health-related topics
- Creating bespoke health-related threat assessments in response to specific client requests
- Contributing predictive analytical articles to Crisis24’s Health Intelligence Monitor, providing in-depth, short-to medium-term briefings on location-specific client impacts
- Contributing to, and helping maintain, team-specific standard operating procedures
- Identifying and suggesting subjects for in-depth, issue-specific Special Reports, and drafting on approval from the Director Intelligence (Categories)
- Researching and maintaining the Horizon location intelligence database to ensure it remains current, accurate, and of practical use to clients
Who You Will Work With
The successful candidate will sit with the Cape Town based Health Intelligence team and report to the Director of Intelligence (Categories). The role will provide health-centric analytical support to clients and internal intelligence and operational colleagues globally.
In particular, close collaboration with the global medical assistance teams will be a key part of the role.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in health/medical related field with evidence of public health knowledge or experience. Master’s degree preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially the ability to write clearly and concisely
- English proficiency is a must, additional language proficiency is desirable
- Must have outstanding attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with MS Office essential
- Flexibility within defined processes and procedures and ability to adapt to shifting standard operating procedures as necessary
- Efficiency with time management
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting essential
- Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Must have the ability to work in South Africa without any restrictions or sponsorship
