Project Manager, Remediation and Capital Projects
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Chicago team to help our company continue to deliver the best buildings for our residents and investors. Article Student Living is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the daily management, coordination, and successful completion of construction and ongoing capital improvement projects. You will meet time and cost goals for work such as contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration of your projects.
The ideal Project Manager is flexible, excels at pivoting, and has experience communicating project progress, budgets, and timelines to the applicable internal team, on-site personnel, and vendors.

You will report to the SVP of Operations.
You will work on-site at our Fulton Market home office 4-5 days a week and travel up to 50% of the time.
The salary for this role is $95K -$110K annually
Responsibilities

Manage partner relationships on the project, including your colleagues, on-site personnel and vendors, subcontractors and local partners and clients

Ensure projects are on budget, working with Operations, Development, and Accounting to manage budgets, construction timelines, and project execution

Help with due diligence for property acquisitions

Ensure accurate documentation to ensure on-time, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery

Communicate any concerns relating to compliance or safety to the team

Use judgment and expertise to identify necessary adjustments to project scope, approach, or deliverables based on changing requirements

Support design management process throughout the project, understanding cost and schedule impacts of design-related changes

Translate contract provisions into specific project subcontractor and supplier contracts

Understand the skillsets and expertise of the teams to maximize the project’s success

Use expertise of project related interdependencies to maintain and provide accurate and detailed project records
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant experience
-
At least 5 years of progressive construction and/or capital project management experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer, or at least 5 years of industry-related experience with demonstrated expertise and leadership in estimating, scheduling, budget/cost control, field management, financial reporting, and client relationships

Background in project delivery and project management

Experience presenting to varying levels of company partners

Experience in basic computer applications and software programs, Procore, and Profiler, in addition to Excel and MS Project experience

Can safely navigate conditions at a construction site, including climbing ladders, cluttered areas, working in bad weather, hazardous areas, dark conditions, and maneuvering uneven surfaces to inspect progress
