The Breakdown:
Burton Snowboards and Anon Optics are looking for a Social Media Manager to lead our presence on YouTube and TikTok, with Burton as the year-one priority. This role is for a creative and strategic thinker who knows how to tell compelling brand stories, build community, and grow engaged audiences through platform-native video content. If you’re tapped into internet culture, live and breathe short-form video, and bring a scrappy, experimental mindset to everything you do—we want to hear from you.
You’ll partner closely with our athletes, videographers, product teams, and internal stakeholders to craft narratives that resonate with the next generation of snowboarders, while maintaining a deep connection to our brand’s history, innovation, and core values. This is a highly collaborative role requiring both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.
What You’ll Get To Do:
- Own and grow Burton and Anon’s YouTube and TikTok channels through organic content strategy, execution, and optimization.
- Build storytelling frameworks that elevate brand identity and connect with younger audiences through high-performing social video formats.
- Edit and package content for YouTube Shorts and TikTok—quick, sharp, on-brand, and always optimized for watch time.
- Concept, script, and lead video production for series, campaigns, and athlete-driven stories.
- Dive into Burton’s archives, heritage, product, and R&D to surface stories that matter—and bring them to life in a modern way.
- Collaborate across teams—from creative and brand to product and community—to ensure alignment and amplify impact.
- Stay current on platform trends, emerging formats, and creator culture to shape our content strategy and brand relevance.
- Analyze performance and audience insights to inform A/B testing, SEO strategy, and content evolution.
- Lead consistent channel publishing and engagement routines, ensuring we show up consistently and meaningfully.
- Explore cross-platform promotional strategies while maintaining brand voice and cohesion.
What You’ll Bring To The Team:
- 3–5 years of experience managing social-first video content, ideally within an action sports, outdoor, or lifestyle brand.
- Expert-level knowledge of YouTube and TikTok: content formats, community behavior, SEO/algorithm basics, and best practices.
- Strong storytelling chops and a love for finding the unexpected angles that grab attention fast.
- Scrappy mindset—comfortable both leading strategy and jumping into editing or community interaction.
- Proficiency in tools like Premiere Pro, or similar.
- Analytical approach to content—comfortable interpreting metrics and making decisions based on performance.
- Experience collaborating with creators, athletes, or partners to expand reach and relevance.
- A passion for snowboarding, the culture, and our community—plus a curiosity for everything from our tech innovation to our athlete history.
- A team player and proactive communicator who thrives on collaboration and connection.
Work/Physical Environment:
- This position is in a typical, stationary office setting. Over 80% of the day will be spent seated (and/or at a stand-up desk).
- This is an on-site role, based in Burlington, VT. Expectations for time on-site are aligned with the company’s Stance on Remote Roles. We will offer relocation assistance to move to Vermont to any candidate who is hired.
- This is an exempt/salaried year-round position.
