The Center for Victims of Torture is hiring a bilingual clinical supervisor to provide clinical mental health services, training and case management supervision for the Proyecto Mariposa project on-site at partner locations throughout the Tucson, AZ metro area. This position will contribute to the design and delivery of mental health and psychosocial support programming, oversight of destination case management programming, clinical supervision for staff and interns, and collaboration with partner staff and volunteers and community partners.

 

Position open to:

  • Candidates located in the U.S. who are authorized to work in U.S. and will not need CVT to sponsor them on a work visa.

 

Remote status:

  • Position is partially remote. 50% in-office in Tucson, Arizona and 50% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Mental Health Service Provision: Provide individual and group mental health and psychosocial support services on site at partner organizations and through telehealth. Provide screening and intake for new project clients. Participate in mapping of referral network and creation of psychoeducational materials. Complete all required internal and external documentation. Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, program reviews and informal consultations as-needed.
  • Training and Capacity Development: Provide training to CVT staff and partner organization staff and volunteers on topics such as trauma-informed care, psychosocial support, migration stress, parenting, staff/self-care and other relevant topics.
  • Case Supervision: Provide individual and group supervision to case managers in identifying and assessing the needs of clients, setting and monitoring appropriate service outcomes. Oversee the quality of service delivery on site at partner organizations to ensure that expected outcomes and documentation needs are met.
  • Partnership Collaboration: Collaborate with partner organization staff and volunteers on program design and development, managing referrals and intake for CVT services, and providing support as needed to partner organization staff. When appropriate, advise program manager on project and partnership needs.

 

Qualifications:

Required education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations

  • Master’s degree in social work degree or related field of study  
  • Licensed Master Social Worker in Arizona (or license-eligible). For applicants applying from states other than Arizona, applicant must hold an active, graduate-level social work license in another state and be willing to re-locate to Arizona.
  • 3 years of experience providing direct services (case management, social work, therapy or other mental health services) to migrant, immigrant, refugee or asylum-seeking populations
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision
  • Spanish fluency required (including speaking, reading and writing)

 

Preferred education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arizona or licensure in a related profession
  • 5 years of experience providing social work services to survivors of trauma
  • 2 years providing clinical supervision to staff and students
  • Demonstrated experience working on new program development
  • Demonstrated experience working or volunteering in migrant shelters on the US-MX border

  • Demonstrated understanding of the US immigration system, including asylum process
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, recognize appropriate boundaries and cope with emotionally stressful situations
  • Ability to work as a part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing program requirements and political climate
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Commitment to engaging in human rights work, and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within the organization

 

Work Environment (subject to change):

  • Services are provided on-site at partner locations throughout the Tucson, AZ metro area and remotely via telehealth follow-up
  • Time spent on the computer is approximately 40%
  • Time spent in virtual meetings is approximately 40%

Supervisory Responsibilities: No administrative supervision. Position provides case supervision to staff and interns.
