The Restaurant Host is the first point of contact for guests entering the dining outlet. This role is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, ensuring an organized flow of the dining room, and supporting the overall guest experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and proactive in providing warm, professional service.

Essential Job Functions

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

Greet arriving guests with a prompt, courteous welcome and seat them with menus.

Manage phone and in-person reservations, providing accurate and helpful responses.

Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and ready for guests.

Maintain and rotate seating charts to support fair server station distribution.

Keep the host stand tidy, organized, and fully stocked with supplies.

Serve beverages, bread, and butter at the beginning of service when needed.

Clear dirty tableware and transport it to the dishwashing area.

Assist with general cleaning duties using hotel-approved products.

Fold napkins and ensure sufficient supply for each meal period.

Restock and maintain service stations before, during, and after shifts.

Support servers with food running, pre-bussing, and guest needs.

Respond to special requests and assist with unexpected tasks as needed.

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Adhere to all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper use of protective equipment.

Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries to supervisors.

Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times (see team member handbook).

Assist other restaurant personnel when needed to ensure smooth operation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, standards, and guest etiquette.

Familiarity with appropriate table settings and service ware.

Ability to follow all state, federal, and company alcohol service regulations.

Must hold or be in the process of obtaining a valid Food Handler Card.

Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to read and follow product safety and usage instructions.
Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs using a cart or hand truck.

Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
