Job Summary
As a Housekeeping Houseperson, you are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all guest room corridors, service areas, and public floor spaces. You’ll assist the housekeeping team by stocking linen closets, removing soiled items, responding to guest requests, and ensuring that all assigned areas meet the hotel’s standards of cleanliness and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make regular rounds through guest room corridors to remove debris, tidy spaces, and identify areas needing attention.

  • Clean and maintain all hallways, elevators, stairwells, vending areas, guest laundry rooms, and service corridors.

  • Stock and organize floor linen closets with fresh supplies and remove trash and unnecessary items.

  • Strip used linen and towels from guest rooms as assigned and deliver to laundry chute.

  • Remove soiled glasses from carts/closets, return them to the kitchen, and restock clean glasses to proper areas.

  • Wipe down surfaces of vending machines, ice machines, and laundry room equipment.

  • Remove stains, dust, and scuff marks from carpets; report larger issues as needed.

  • Deliver requested items to guest rooms quickly and professionally.

  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to management.

  • Return all lost and found items and guest room keys to the appropriate department.

  • Follow hotel policies, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.

  • Assist Room Attendants and other Housekeeping staff with lifting, moving, or priority tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred.

  • Basic English communication skills required.

  • Must be able to operate vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other housekeeping equipment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.

  • Must be dependable, efficient, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to push carts up to 200 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds.

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and climbing stairs.

  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift equipment and supplies throughout shift.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.

  • Must be comfortable using a radio for communication and able to work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.
