Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Loan Opener position is to receive loan application submissions into the Loan Processing system. This position is responsible for receiving and updating critical loan data within the system and setting up the loan file for processing in an accurate compliant manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews loan files to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and departmental productivity and quality requirements.
- Manages email communication with Brokers, Account Managers and Account Executives to request documentation and set expectations.
- Performs accurate and complete data input into Point of Sale or Loan Origination system.
- Requests needed documentation from third party sources and provide follow up within regulatory guidelines.
- Assists the processing staff with other tasks or projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Minimum of two years of Mortgage/Banking experience required
- Full understanding of Wholesale loan documents preferred
Functional/Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of investor guidelines
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Displays strong organizational skills and manages time effectively
- Ability to multi-task and deal with competing priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
