Role Purpose: Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction within the manufacturing process.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Implement strategies to enhance safety, quality, and productivity to meet continuous improvement targets.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment, fixtures, tooling, and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Write programs, product routings, design fixtures and tooling.
  • Hands-on mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project execution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, equipment specifications, and project status. Generate reports for management and project stakeholders.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Identify and address potential manufacturing risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
  • Work safely every day and supporting efforts to maintain an injury free workplace.
  • Define and establish part inspection processes that are cost effective and meet all quality requirements.
  • Change and improve processes to increase productivity and competitiveness.
  • Meet cost and schedule commitments while maintaining the utmost standards for quality.
  • Promote a spirit of cooperation and follow company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies:

  • Must be proficient at reading and understanding written shop processes, engineering blueprints, engineering change notices, work instructions, procedures, routers, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Ability to review the manufacturing steps and identify part features requiring in-process tolerances.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with production personnel, support groups, customers, and management.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process, including investigations and recommendations for productivity improvements.
  • Excellent project management and team leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional people skills, highly competent, and trustworthy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within teams and with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in electronic controls engineering, with hands-on experience in designing and troubleshooting electronic circuits and control systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring schematics.
  • Solid understanding of network technology, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and IP protocols.
  • Experience in software flashing/commissioning of microcontrollers, preferably in embedded systems.
  • A willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.
  • Strong system debugging skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex electrical and software issues.
