Position Type: PRN
Work Schedule: As Needed- Days or Nights 

Position Summary
    • Coordinate clerical and public relations functions for the unit

    • Serve as unit receptionist, greeting and directing visitors

    • Manage patient services and test scheduling with ancillary hospital departments

    • Accurately transcribe physician orders for assigned patients

    • Collaborate with the healthcare team and provide customer-focused support

    • Deliver quality administrative work according to hospital standards and policies

    • Must be flexible and willing to float to other comparable units as needed

Education & Qualifications
    • High school graduate or equivalent

    • Completion of a Medical Terminology course (or must complete within orientation period)

    • Completion of hospital service orientation program

    • Basic computer and typing skills required

    • Previous hospital experience or secretary training in a medical setting preferred

    • BCLS certification preferred

    • Uses common sense and good judgment in day-to-day tasks

    • Communicates clearly and effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and families

    • Adapts to varied supervision styles and handles stress calmly

    • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion in sensitive situations

    • Demonstrates tact and diplomacy in all interactions

    • Able to work irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays, due to unit needs

    • Performs duties within the scope of practice and adheres to established standards
