Facility: East Cooper Medical Center 
Location: Mount Pleasant, SC

Position Type: Full Time- 40 hours 
Work Schedule: Sports School Schedule 

Position Summary
As a key member of the sports medicine team, the Athletic Trainer works collaboratively with coaches, students, healthcare providers, and school staff to ensure the safe participation of athletes in all sports programs. This role includes:
• Providing sideline coverage during practices and games
• Assisting in injury evaluation and management
• Implementing rehabilitation and return-to-play programs
• Promoting injury prevention and safe conditioning practices
• Under the general supervision of a licensed MD and in accordance with NATA Guidelines, established protocols, and state regulations, the Athletic Trainer is responsible for:
• Evaluating injuries and administering treatment plans
• Utilizing therapy modalities and medical protocols for prevention and recovery
• Developing and monitoring conditioning and rehabilitation programs
• Coordinating care with external organizations, as outlined by contractual agreements
• Conducting physical evaluations, establishing care plans, and making provider referrals as needed
• Supporting department operations through training, documentation, and reporting
• The ideal candidate is passionate about working with high school athletes and excels in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements:

Education & Certifications
• Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from an accredited program
• Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
• Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of South Carolina
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
• Valid Driver’s License

Experience & Skills
• One year of athletic training experience preferred
• Excellent knowledge of sports injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, coaches, medical providers, and staff
• Strong documentation, organization, and time management skills
• CSCS certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) preferred
