Position Summary
Under the direction of the Department Director and/or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality, and compassionate nursing care to neonatal patients. Responsibilities include:
• Delivering direct and indirect professional nursing care
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating healthcare needs for all assigned patients
• Caring for infant to geriatric patients, unless otherwise specified
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to meet unit and hospital goals
• Maintaining a customer-focused approach while providing evidence-based care
• Willingness to float to other comparable nursing units, as needed

• Strong knowledge of general nursing theories and practices
• Prior hospital experience preferred, specifically in Level II/III Nursery care
• Effective at motivating and supervising others
• Uses initiative and independent judgment within scope of nursing practice
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times
• Exercises tact and diplomacy with physicians, patients, families, and team members
• Flexible with irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Able to function in the Charge Nurse role, as needed
Education & Certifications
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
• One year of experience in a Level II or Level III Nursery preferred
• BSN preferred
• Completion of nursing service orientation program
• Completion of IV Therapy training or demonstration of IV competency within one year
• Current BCLS certification (required)
• NRP certification – must be obtained during orientation
• STABLE certification – required during orientation or within 6 months of hire
• Advanced specialty certification and/or participation in professional organizations encouraged
