Position Summary
The Interventional Radiology RN is responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. The RN is proficient in:

    • Pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure care

    • Administration of critical care medications, including procedural sedation

    • Continuous hemodynamic monitoring and arrhythmia management

This role works in close collaboration with the Interventional Radiology Technologist to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care. The RN also participates in unit-based initiatives and performance improvement (PI) projects.

Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after procedures

    • Administer medications and sedation as per procedural requirements

    • Monitor and manage hemodynamic status and respond to arrhythmias as needed

    • Collaborate closely with the radiology team to ensure seamless procedural flow

    • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards

    • Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives and team projects

Qualifications

Education & Certifications
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

    • Current RN license with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing

    • Current BCLS and ACLS certifications required

Experience & Skills
    • Critical care nursing experience required

    • Knowledge of Interventional Radiology and PICC procedures preferred

    • Positive references from previous employers or nursing school

    • Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
