Summary:
Join our compassionate and dedicated team at East Cooper OBGYN, part of Novant Health. As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play an essential role in providing direct clinical support in a dynamic, patient-centered obstetrics and gynecology practice. You’ll work closely with our physicians and women’s health specialists to ensure high-quality, empathetic care across all stages of life. Your role will include assisting with exams and procedures, preparing patients, and ensuring a seamless care experience for every individual we serve.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care Support: Assist providers during OB/GYN exams, prenatal visits, procedures, and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Rooming & Intake: Greet patients, take vital signs, obtain medical histories, and prepare rooms for examinations.

Procedure Preparation: Set up and maintain examination rooms and instruments; assist with in-office procedures (e.g., Pap smears, pelvic exams, ultrasounds, IUD insertions).

Care Coordination: Schedule diagnostic testing (e.g., ultrasounds, mammograms), follow-up appointments, and referrals as directed.

Patient Education: Provide patients with information related to prenatal care, gynecological health, and routine preventive screenings.

Charting & Documentation: Document all clinical interactions accurately in the electronic health record (Athena preferred), following all compliance and quality standards.
Education & Experience:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Required: Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program

Preferred: One year of experience in an OB/GYN or women’s health setting
Certifications:

Required: Active Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT)

Required: Current CPR certification
