Physical Therapist (PT) – Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute
Position Summary:
Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to join our dedicated team. The PT will provide evidence-based physical therapy services to individuals with medically eligible conditions. This includes evaluating, developing, and implementing individualized treatment plans to support optimal patient outcomes. The PT will also provide direction and guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants as appropriate.
Working Conditions:

Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and both auditory and visual acuity.

Standing for extended periods is required.

Must possess the physical and mental stamina to perform and guide physical therapy interventions.

Requires assisting with the positioning and movement of patients of various sizes.

Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds.

Must follow universal health and safety precautions in all clinical settings.
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Deliver physical therapy services as prescribed by a physician; conduct patient evaluations using appropriate assessment tools; document findings and establish measurable goals and objectives.

Design, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation and patient response.

Perform comprehensive evaluations such as range of motion, strength testing, functional mobility assessments, gait analysis, and other diagnostic procedures to assess impairments and limitations.

Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants; provide clinical direction and ensure quality and consistency of care delivery.

Collaborate with physicians on patient progress, treatment modifications, and discharge planning; offer recommendations on advanced treatment options when appropriate.

Assess patient needs for adaptive equipment (e.g., braces, wheelchairs, walkers); provide justification for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe use of therapeutic equipment.

Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all evaluations, treatment sessions, care plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Stay up to date with current physical therapy practices, treatment methodologies, and technology advancements.
Qualifications:

Valid and active Physical Therapist license issued by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

Experience in spine or orthopedic therapy preferred, but not required

Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
