Position Summary
The MRI/CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) exams in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This role involves preparing and positioning patients, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring accurate post-exam processing. The technologist provides basic patient care, maintains accurate records within the PACS/HRM system, and ensures a positive experience for patients throughout the imaging process.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and position patients for MRI and CT scans in a safe, comfortable, and efficient manner
• Operate MRI and CT equipment to capture diagnostic images in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
• Assist physicians with procedures and attend to patients' needs post-exam
• Ensure safety precautions are followed for patients, including screening for contraindications
• Perform post-exam documentation and maintain accurate patient information in HRM/PACS systems
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper equipment maintenance
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care and patient service
Qualifications
Education & Certification
• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Radiologic Technology or related field
• Current BLS certification
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
○ New graduates must obtain ARRT registry within 90 days of hire
Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience in an imaging department or outpatient center
• Minimum of 2 years of CT experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating advanced imaging equipment and adhering to safety protocols
