Behavior - Behavioral Health Outreach Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Functions:
- The Behavior Health Outreach Specialist will attend community events throughout San Diego County to provider outreach and marketing materials and to provide educational information congruent with BH Grant Objectives (must be available to work all shifts including evenings and weekends).
- Must demonstrate strong outreach skills: outgoing personality with strong public speaking, time management and organizational skills.
- Must demonstrate strong educational presentation skills.
- Must be able to work within a team and also be comfortable working independently in the field.
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of culturally appropriate programming to meet the deliverable objectives of BH grants.
- Event planning aimed at community engagement to meet the deliverable objectives of BH Grants.
- Engage in outreach efforts to drive census for all of the SDAIHC services and the SDAIHC Youth Center.
- Being that the Outreach Specialist is a representative of SDAIHC it is integral to maintaining professional and responsible interactions with the public.
- Provide support and referrals to the general public seeking SDAIHC Medical, Dental or Behavioral Health services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience working in outreach or public relations speaking in public.
Preferred:
- Experience serving a multinational, multicultural population.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Has a clean driving record and insurance as required by the state.
- Has reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and meticulous records.

- Basic knowledge of work processing skills, digital presentation, internet navigation and social media.

- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all during the course of work.
- Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite or related programs.
- Ability to learn other accounting software systems.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Able to lift/move up to 40 pounds, move from place to place.
- Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
- Able to stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods.
- Ability to do math, organize and prioritize workload, work effectively and efficiently under stress.
- Ability to supervise, multitask, understand, and follow instructions. Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to accomplish the duties associated with your job description. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients and professional staff.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.

- Participate in infection prevention through appropriate use of infection control measures during patient treatment and patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for maintaining physical spaces, equipment, and supplies.
- Uses all appropriate equipment and/or tools to ensure workplace safety.
- Immediately reports unsafe working conditions.
Privacy/Compliance:
- Maintains privacy and security of all patients, employee, and volunteer information and access to such information. Such information is accessed on a need-to-know basis for business purposes only.
- Complies with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations. Reports on unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful behavior or activity.
- Upholds strict ethical standards.
Flexibility:
- Available for all shifts and, when required, able to work evenings and weekends.
