JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

 

JOB TITLE: Specialist, IT (RPG Programmer_Labels)

FLSA STATUS:  Non Exempt 

REPORTS TO:  IT Director 

 

 

SUMMARY 

This is a technical position responsible for development programming, and maintenance or modification programming based on the business principles.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks: 

 

  • Work with users of an IBMi and CMS (Epicor ERP) to determine what features are required.
  • Knowledge of programming in RPG/ILS, CL, DBU, and basic IBMi OS operations, including IBMi Zebra printer configuration.
  • Responsible for user documentation of systems/applications.
  • Responsible for production Label formats- testing and certifications through Automotive OEMs.
  • Responsible for testing the systems/applications, prior to releasing in production.
  • Responsible for learning programming techniques from other staff members and new programming technology.
  • Support for users within the company and work with others in the department on standard processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelors DegreeA minimum of three years’ experience in IBMi RPG/ILE programming business applicationsThree years’ experience with TLAshford and production Label creation/certifications. Ability to create and modify reports with minimal direction and knowledge of web applications and development 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
  • Work independently and complete projects on-time.
  • A minimum score of 26on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 

This position typically does notrequire any travel.
