Senior, Field Service Engineer

Location: Home based with as required travel to Customer sites. Extensive travel will be required including offshore sites.

Summary:

For a portfolio of Customers’, responsible for the successful day to day field service task execution at various customer sites.

General Responsibilities:

  • To work safely and in accordance with all company Health, Safety and Environmental rules and recommendations, be proactive in maintaining a safe working environment and comply with customer site HSE Rules
  • Measure performance against outage overhaul program, identify and execute actions needed to ensure deadlines are met
  • Supervision of assigned craft labour;
  •  Ensure that suitable experienced craft labour is assigned to tasks and that they are set to work safely.
  • Conduct toolbox talks at start of shift.
  • Provide technical guidance to craft labour.
  •  Undertake mechanical tasks as required in a safe manner.
  • Provide the Lead Field Service Engineer with an accurate status of ongoing works (Major Outages Only – where Lead Field Service Engineer is deployed)
  • Complete relevant QA documentation and procedures where applicable.
  • Interface with customers personnel on all aspects of the works, including progress, HSE reporting and any technical aspects which require clarification.
  • Troubleshoot customer GT operational problems onsite/by phone/by e-mail.
  • Develop and write reports in relation to work completed and report issues to C-TSL engineering department and relevant contract manager.
  • Liaise with all C-TSL departments to maximise levels of service to the customer.
  •  Provide technical support to Customer as required (outside field service assignments)
  • Continually look for ways to improve the service to the customer.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Formal recognized apprenticeship or education to HND level

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with heavy frame GE gas turbines
  • Good basic knowledge of GE Speedtronics Gas Turbine Control systems.
  • Experience working on LM2500 gas turbines preferred.

Skills:

  • IT literate
  • Proficient with MS office products
